The Legendary "Tocco" Steinway D lives on...
I finished this project today, it is a new set of custom designed keys on the modified and restored original action frame of the legendary 1959 "Tocco" Steinway model D concert grand #piano that until very recently belonged to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The new owners had the piano shipped to the Steinway Factory in Long Island, NY to be rebuilt; except for the action which was sent to me. It was a challenging project and I really like how it turned out. As an extra bonus, once it is finished being installed back into the piano's case I'll have a chance to "take it for a test drive" in order to see how the instrument turned out.
